Robin Lynn was born in Tioga County, NY, and currently lives in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
--------------------- Robin put herself through college, graduating with a BA degree, and was chosen by the university to receive an award for excellence in achievement despite hardship and adversity. She obtained various certifications in alternative healing modalities. Robin has lived or traveled in various places in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe, and has worked among the wealthy, and the poor, as an indentured servant, teacher, counselor, healer, and entrepreneur. She loves to dance, write, drum, laugh, and pray. She gets bored easily, has a passion for truth and justice, and a deep commitment to God. Sickly from the time she was an adolescent, doctors offered differing opinions, and around the year 2000, her body and mind gave out. Robin was leveled by Lyme and robbed of everything. With no health insurance, no money, no car—too sick to work, or to keep going—Robin became homeless and endured all of the horror that condition imposes. Her feet, ankles, and legs alternated from searing pain to weakness and numbness. She could not stay awake longer than two hours a day and, at times, could not even raise her arms to brush her hair. Hurt, exhausted and frightened, Robin had experienced every Lyme symptom for years, intensifying and resulting in disability. She has been diagnosed as having approximately thirty-six different diseases or disorders. Robin believes that the grace of God lead her, in June 2009, to a Lyme-literate medical doctor who seemed to really care that every system in her body had been infected by a devastating disease most choose not to talk about. The tests and medication—and the healing—began. Recovery is slow, and will be ongoing as long as she lives. Having done her own extensive research when no one was able to provide any answers, Robin decided she wanted to become a Lyme Awareness Advocate because this is such an unknown epidemic. When she viewed the film “Under Our Skin,” she realized what a wonderful tool it is, and decided to take action and to begin a grass roots movement in her own area. Robin sees the value of probiotics, digestive enzymes, vitamins, minerals, nutrition, and exercise as being critical for those with a compromised immune system and various chronic illnesses. Robin has an amazing and strong spirit. At this time, she is careful with her hopes, dreams, and plans, although she does have a few ideas, depending on what God and her health allow. She focuses on one day at a time, and being proactive in the Lyme community in different capacities. Robin’s belief is that “God does not make mistakes, people do.” Her vision is to be healthy and happy. Robin wants to tell her story so others can connect, and also find hope for their personal journey to wellness.
